While this wasn’t a formal Imp presentation, I included a whole segment on EI in a “maker” presentation at WebVisions PDX 2013. WebVisions is a web designer audience, but this year there is heavy emphasis on makers. While people gravitate towards Arduino, I don’t think they realize the challenges in a reliable wireless infrastructure down that road, so I present EI as the best alternative for connected projects. I walk through all the steps to create a wireless LED controlled from a web page. The physical parts are assembled as I walk through the slides. Not a complex project, but going from parts to wireless control in the middle of a session created plenty of conversation after the session ended. Go Imp!
