I have read in a post from 2013 that I2C slave support on the IMP was possible but not currently supported.

Yep, that’s still the case.
We’ve not had a commercial customer ask for this, and that tends to be how things get prioritised - there’s a very long list of nice-to-have’s (unrelated to specific customers) that we’ve been working through…
Still the case? Is there a way for us to go lower level to get to it? Or just not possible.
It’s not possible for you to get to the hardware directly, no. File a ticket with what you’re trying to do?
