Feel free to use http://androvm.org/ an pick a build that is “gapps” enabled. Also download AndroVMplayer. It will only work when you start using AndroVMplayer to start the VM as you need it to enable hardware acceleration to get high frame rates. Make sure to use a low resolution to be on the safe side.

Hmm, couldn’t get the hardware OpenGL to work. AndroVM works fine in VirtualBox, and I could install the electric imp app from Google Play, but it runs too slowly. My old XP netbook could be underpowered for this to make it work.
