Earlier this year we rewrote and expanded the API that we use to deliver developer BlinkUp™ to the Electric Imp mobile app. At the time, we warned that the original API, v2, would therefore be removed in due course. This removal has now been scheduled for 1 November 2019.
From that date, the new API, will be the only one available for developer BlinkUp. The Electric Imp app, in both its Android and iOS forms, were ported to the new API earlier this year, and recent versions will continue to work after 1 November.
However, if you are using an older version of the app — 4.5.6 or below on Android, 4.5.8 or below on iOS — then you will need to update to the latest version of the app before 1 November.
Please note that the removal of the v2 API does not affect production BlinkUp, ie. the activation of end-user devices.
