Imp.scanwifinetworks() returned rssi comparison

on release 27, that supports scanning for wifi networks (imp.scanwifinetworks()), the rssi value returned seems to be quite different from other wifi hardware, e.g. usb wifi dongle into a pc. While I wouldn’t expect it to be exactly the same, it should be roughly in the same ballpark, right?

In some cases more than 20 dB difference.

Thoughts? Anybody try to compare?

Is it consistently the same difference? If so, then the Imp’s wireless reception is either better or worse than your other wireless device.

RSSI values are not absolute; also depends on many things like antenna gain, orientation, exact position down to the millimeter, etc. Relative strengths should be comparable, but not absolute.
