how turn on/off led from ubidots
They have a developer section:

That describes an input to ubidots from the imp.
To turn on/off LED, you’ll have to create a “trigger” or “button” on ubidots and post to the imp agent.
You may want to do both … a button to turn on/turn off, and feedback to have the imp tell you specifically whether the LED is on or off (physical feedback).
how secure is ubidots. I may be mistaken but api (user-registration / sign-in) does not appear to be using https
