I want to reduce the length of the RF-trace in the imp003 with SMD antenna reference design (see attached picture).
Am I right to assume that changing the length alone of the RF-trace will not affect the impedance, since only trace width, trace height and trace to plane distance, affects the 50 Ohm impedance of the transmission line?
Microstrip impedance:
Zo=(87/SQRT(Er+1.41))LN(5.98TraceToPlaneDistance/(0.8*TraceWidth + TraceHeight))
Stripline impedance
Zo=(60/SQRT(Er))LN((1.9PlaneToPlaneDistance)/(0.8*TraceWidth + TraceHeight))
