BlinkUp on Older iPad

I am running version 2.1.4 of the Electric Imp app on an Apple iPad 2 WiFi only (model MC770LL/A) running and older OS version 6.1 (10B141). The BlinkUp process doesn’t work. Using an iPad 3 (model MC707C/A) running OS 7.1.1 (11D201) works when also running version 2.1.4 of the Electric Imp app.

Is there something about the older hardware or OS that prevents BlinkUp?

No, it should be ok, but as it’s not the current version you’re likely slightly out on a limb.

Any reason you’re not running OS 7 or 8 on the iPad2?

Since updating the iPad3 to iOS7 then it can only connect to the 5GHz WiFi and not the 2.4GHz. Also as a mobile developer I want to keep around a few different versions for testing apps.

That’s strange, @marktucker. My iPad three connects to both 5GHz and 2.4GHz LANs. You might want to think about resetting your device’s network settings (if you haven’t tried that already, of course).
