In my quest for a display that can display images from an SD card controlled by an Imp using serial uart I’ve come across 4D Systems. They do a range of displays including touch screen and a transparent display. They can also display video as well as images, graphics and text. They also have a sound module built in.
They are quite expensive, at least for me, but are worth it I think. I’ve been experimenting with one for a little while now and have had some good results. I’ve done a blog post about it, link below.
Basically I’m changing the image on the screen via ‘http in’ using uart rather than spi, which I found impossible. Hope it’s of interest and have a look at 4D Systems.
