WiFi power save mode

When does it make sense to use imp.setpowersave?
If I’m sending data continuously, it seems like it might not make sense, since we’ll be turning WiFi back on just as soon as we shut it down to save power. Does anyone know the crossover point where it pretty much has no value, or actually ends up costing power? Or is it always a good thing power-wise, and the downside is just the latency?

In one mode, I’m sending data maybe 2-3x per second. It’s all upstream communication. Should I turn it on? 1/4 sec latency doesn’t hurt me that much, I already have significantly more latency than that on the server side.

Thanks,
– Jim

It’s always a good thing power-wise, and the downside is just the receive (i.e., server-to-imp) latency. Send (imp-to-server) latency is unaffected.
