Time() function - 32 or 64 bits?

I can’t seem to find anything on google, so here’s the question folks:

Does time() return a 32 bit UNIX timestamp, or a 64 bit UNIX timestamp? If it does indeed return a 32 bit one, are there any 64 bit alternatives that circumvents the Year 2038 problem?

32 bit, as the largest int squirrel can represent on the imp is 32 bit.

Really? You need the Imp to last 25 years without the possibility of upgrading the hardware? The Squirrel code can be changed any day to work around this “Limitation”. Curious as to why…
