Are Imp005 device ids always based off the WiFi MAC address?

Yes - the imp ID that you see in impCentral’s IDE is always based on the MAC address, for all current imp types except imp001.

I can’t guarantee this will always be the case in the future, but there are no plans to change it that I’m aware of.

Sure I was just wondering if it was based on the WiFi MAC address or the Ethernet MAC address on the Imp005

Yes, the WiFi MAC is used to identify the device.
